Farheen Khan is a highly experienced non-profit leader with over two decades of work in the anti-violence and anti-poverty sectors at both local and national levels.
She currently serves as the Senior Manager of Philanthropy at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada, where she leads national strategies for major individual, corporate, and legacy giving. In this role, she manages a team of more than 15 professionals and oversees an annual fundraising portfolio exceeding $57 million.
Farheen is also the Chair of the South Asian Advisory Council at the United Way of Greater Toronto, and the Founder and Imama of Canada’s first and only Women’s Mosque, which operates under a women-led and women-run model. The mosque is now internationally recognized, ranked fifth in the world.
In 2016, she received the J.S. Woodsworth Award for Human Rights and Equity (currently known as the Rosemary Brown Award) in recognition of her tireless advocacy for marginalized communities.
In 2025, Farheen was recognized by Equality X as one of the top 50 most influential Muslims in the Americas for her leadership and contributions around equity, human rights and community development.
Farheen continues to support non profit and charitable organizations build capacity from an equity lens.
A leading voice in the field of family violence prevention, Farheen champions innovative, community-responsive approaches to addressing complex issues such as religious abuse, honour-based violence, and gender-based violence. She remains a vital support for women across Canada escaping severe domestic, intimate partner, and culturally specific forms of violence.
